As your academic editor I can help to improve the credibility of your academic writing. Clear expression, accurate spelling and grammar, and consistent layout make your thesis or dissertation more readable and acceptable for academic assessment.
I can help guide your writing to make sure you accurately and succinctly express the ideas you wish to convey. If your paper is published, your readers are more likely to use your ideas in their own research.
Having taught academic writing for a several years, I can advise you of the appropriate structures and features for your paper, including your :
- table of contents
- list of figures
- sentence and paragraph structure
- use of images.
I am also able to collaborate or communicate with your supervisor.
Working with your academic editor
Contact me to discuss your needs early in the process of writing your thesis or dissertation. I can help you to create standards and styles that can cut your editing costs.
Check your document thoroughly before submitting it for editing. If you make major changes to your paper after you send it to me for editing it can become an expensive job, taking more time and compromising the quality of the final draft.
You may also consider having me proofread your final draft before you submit it for examination.
If you want me to layout your document to include images or other visual elements I can do this as a separate desk-top publishing job once the editing job is complete.
Choose your editing service wisely
Be aware that you get what you pay for, and what you agree on, with your editor. If you only want your paper proofread the cost will be lower than if you want a more comprehensive service. It’s up to you to choose your editor and level of service wisely.
Sometimes students are misled into thinking that a simple proofreading job is all they need. If you only pay for proofreading, and realise later that you need a more comprehensive service, you can end up paying far more than you had budgeted for, or with a paper that still needs a lot of work to make it presentable.
